Haematococcus P
“Discovered” in 1990s, Haematococcus P. is a salt water microalgae that is cultivated in the warm waters of Hawaii. It is one of the best source of Astaxanthin and also a natural anti-oxidant carotenoid. Astaxanthin provides a wide range of anti-oxidant benefits, including ability to protect and regenerate human cells in the body.
<!--–>Under stress, the Haematococcus P. (green) hyperaccumulates the red pigment, Astaxanthin to protect the algae from lack of nutrient, water and/or intense sunlight. Due to the protective properties of Astaxanthin, this algae can stay dormant for more than forty years without food or water and yet when conditions are appropriate, the algae will return to their green, motile stage!
